Ajanta De, MD FACC

Dr. De is an Interventional Cardiologist with advanced training in structural and peripheral vascular disease.

  • A proven specialist in the treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, acute/critical limb ischemia/ limb salvage and stroke prevention.

Dr. Steven J. Fowler

Steven J. Fowler, MD

Has been a sub specialist in cardiac rhythm disorders (electrophysiology) for 15 years; in practice for over 20 years. He joins Golden State Heart & Vascular from Montage Medical Group after coming from New York City 5 years ago.

He was at New York University Langone Medical Center, where he served as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology & Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia Clinic and was part of the Cardiovascular Genetics Program after specialized training in Italy, since 2008. He specializes in treatment of irregular heartbeat, or arrhythmia, for which he has performed over 10,000 procedures within the past 15 years.

Dr. Fowler completed his residency in internal medicine at Scripps in San Diego. He did a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at UC Irvine, and was chief fellow in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at NYU. Dr. Fowler is board-certified in Clinic Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease and serves as the Medical Director of Community Hospital’s Electrophysiology Laboratory.

 

Colm J Murphy, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Colm Murphy is a passionate and skilled Interventional Cardiologist with expertise in cardiac and vascular disease.

  • A subspecialist in interventional cardiology and echocardiography since 2013.

  • In practice for the last 10 years, most recently at Sutter Memorial Hospital and Doctors Medical Center, Modesto, CA, before joining Golden State Heart and Vascular.

  • A former CEO of a medical technology startup, Openxmed, based in Alberta, Canada, developing decision making algorithms for physicians.

  • BASc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada.

  • MD at the University of Toronto, including the recipient of numerous awards, including Medical Society Honour Award and Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award, and active as a representative of the medical student body including as Class President and Student Governor.

  • Internship/residency in Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

  • Chief cardiology fellow in Adult Cardiology at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

  • Sub-specialization in Interventional Cardiology and Echocardiography at the Montreal Heart Institute, Montreal, Canada.

  • Certification in technology commercialization at the School of Business, Stanford University.

  • Married and proud father of two children, having been the head coach for their Odyssey of the Mind innovation team this past year.

  • Active volunteer with Doctors Without Borders as cardiology field consultant.

Nima Patel

Nima Patel, PA

Nima Patel is a Physician Assistant involved in every aspect of our patients’ care, from new patient examinations to ultrasounds, assisting in the operating room, triaging patient needs by phone and managing postoperative follow-ups. Nima is well-versed in all aspects of vascular disease and is formally certified in vascular ultrasonography (RVS) and wound care (CWS). She is highly devoted to providing an unparalleled level of care to our patients with integrity, compassion and professionalism.  Nima was born and raised in San Francisco, and she knew at a young age she wanted to practice medicine in order to serve the community. She graduated with a BS from St. Mary’s College, Moraga, completed a Masters degree in the Physician Assistant medical program at Touro University, Nevada, while also working as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She enjoys adventures in exotic lands, exploring new cultures and history alongside her husband. When Nima is not practicing medicine you can find her in the kitchen experimenting the culinary arts with new recipes and cuisines. To stay happy and healthy she enjoys hiking, learning new hobbies and practicing gratitude.

 

Lilian Pham, PA

Lilian Pham is a recent Physician Assistant graduate from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. She is eager and excited to start her career with GSHAV and hopes to sharpen her skills under the guidance of our talented physicians. She is devoted to providing compassionate and professional care to her community. Lily was born and raised in San Jose and has ingratiated her younger years around volunteering in hospitals here and in Los Angeles, where she completed her BS in Psychobiology at UCLA. In her free time, she loves traveling, trying out new restaurants, swimming, and weight lifting at the gym.

 
Charlotte Jones

Charlotte Jones, MSN, AGACNP-BC

Charlotte Jones is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a background in interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular disease, electrophysiology, structural heart disease, and cardiothoracic surgery. She is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University with a Master’s degree in Nursing. She is board certified in adult – gerontologic acute care, and cardiovascular medicine. Charlotte is passionate about patient education and enjoys empowering patients to manage their complex medical conditions. Charlotte was born in England and emigrated from the UK to the Central Valley with her family when she was 8 years old. She attended UC Santa Cruz where she received degrees in Literature and Legal Studies before attending nursing school. She is a new mother who enjoys watching her son learn and grow every day.

 
Melinda Stevens

Melinda Stevens

Melinda Stevens is our Chief Operating Officer, whose experience includes consulting, coaching and training physicians, managers, and medical staff from coast to coast, spanning vascular surgery, neurology, surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology and dermatology. Melinda’s expertise encompasses all areas of practice management, from marketing, financial management and operational efficiency to leadership and governance, human resource and patient communication. After starting her career as a Respiratory Therapist, Melinda received her MBA from Vanderbilt University and dedicated her future to managing medical practices and providing exceptional patient care. She has 20 years of experience in CEO and CFO roles in finance, marketing, operations and leadership. Melinda lives with her husband Barry and their 2 children, Tyler and Kyndal. She enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors and traveling.
